Goals:
1. Introduce students to a new material for three dimensional molding technique.

Paper Pattern Masks -- Grades K-3

Goals:
1. Introduce students to a concept design in creating three dimensions.
2. Sharing of supplies and colored paper for additional decor.
3. Learn additional simple techniques for embellishment. e.g. Scoring & Curling
4. Introduce students to masks as a universal art form.

WORKSHOPS

Supplies: Burlap squares approximatlely18 inches square .
One pound of wall paper paste per 15 students or one box of metalyn cellulose per 15 students

 

 

 


 

Burlap Masks -- 4th grade thru adult
One full newspaper per student.
Five gallon bucket to mix paste.
Empty containers to mold over, i.e. small yogurt (optional)
Tables to work on. Elbow room needed so no more than six students per regular six foot table.


3. Create a caricature mask with emotional or attitudinal intent.
4. Consider added elements to enhance emotion discovered in mask. i.e. colors.
4. Enjoy this most tactile experience.

2. Observe the qualities of material for what the material can and wants to do.
